The Reverb Effect: When Friendship Creates Identity
Derek Sivers' powerful metaphor for human connection
So there's this guy Derek Sivers who makes my brain happy whenever he writes things.
And this week, he wrote something really good about friendship that I NEED to share with you.
If you've been hanging around this newsletter for a while, you probably know that Derek is on my "Humans I Want To Clone So We Can Have More Of Their Thinking In The World" list.
I've actually gotten to hang out with him in real life, which was both awesome and intimidating because his brain works in ways mine wishes it could.
Here's the thing about Derek's writing—it's like watching someone solve a Rubik's cube in 10 seconds. Every word is exactly where it needs to be.
No extras. No filler.
Just perfectly arranged thoughts that somehow manage to be both super efficient AND beautiful at the same time.
I'm not going to do that thing where I quote bits and try to analyze them because that would be like me explaining a sunset to you while standing in front of it.
Just go read it.
The birth and reverb of friendship
That’s it for this week.
