There’s something deeply humbling about realising an 8-year-old is better than you… at anything.
Now imagine sitting between two of them, struggling to play "Ode To Joy" on a tiny piano bench, and getting a gold star for not messing it up.
That’s exactly what Shaan Puri is doing.
At age 36.
Voluntarily.
In this week’s edition i share with you the “One Minute Blog” from Shaan.
It is about embracing the Beginner’s Mind—what the Japanese call Shoshin, and what your average Indian uncle might say as:
“Beta, abhi seekh rahe ho na? Toh galtiyaan toh hongi.”
(Translation: “You’re still learning, right? Mistakes are bound to happen.”)
In a world where most of us stick to what we already know (Excel sheets, safe jobs, “I used to play cricket, yaar”), here’s a refreshing reminder that the magic actually begins when you’re willing to be terrible at something.
So pour yourself a cup of chai or coffee, park your ego, and give this one a read.
Then go joyfully suck at something new.
Here it is: beginner's mind
That’s it for this week.
